Welcome to Drayton Medical Practice

& Primary Care Centre

Changes to Phone System from April 2024

We have made some tweaks and updates to the practice phone system. This is part of a large scale set of projects to improve and refresh the technologies within General Practice. Please bear with us while we learn the new functionality.

The announcements have been changed to a clearer voice and will allow more customisations and the ability to change or update them in a more responsive and timely manner.

The menu system has 2 new options, when calling 01630 652158 you now have 5 choices:

1 – Go to the queue to speak to reception

2 – Cancel an appointment – This will require you to leave a message

3 – Order repeat medication – This will require you to leave a message.

4 – For Medical and Insurance reports queries and requests – You may have to leave a message

5 – To speak to a medical secretary (referral queries) – You may have to leave a message

Finally, call back functionality is available under option 1. This will keep your place in the queue but saves you waiting. Once your call reaches the top. A receptionist is then notified to return the call.

To save a call to the Practice, we recommend using eConsult for administrative or routine appointment requests, https://draytonmedicalpractice.webgp.com/.

Your online account can be used for routine appointments, prescriptions and can be given access to test results and other features of your medical record. https://www.draytonmedicalpractice.nhs.uk/appointments/online-services/

111 is the NHS non-emergency number. It’s fast, easy and free. Call 111 and speak to a highly trained adviser, supported by healthcare professionals. They will ask you a series of questions to assess your symptoms and immediately direct you to the best medical care for you.

NHS 111 is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Calls are free from landlines and mobile phones.

Serious Medical Emergencies

Patients requiring stitches, or with suspected broken bones, are advised to go directly to the A&E department at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, Princess Royal Hospital (Telford) or the nearest A&E department.

If you have a life-threatening medical emergency, please dial 999
