Update on Infection Control Procedures

While the government has announced the end of Covid Plan B measures, their infection prevention and control (IPC) guidance for Healthcare settings remains unchanged.

UK Health Security Guidance states

  • Recommendation for universal use of face masks for staff and face masks/coverings for all patients/visitors to remain as an IPC measure within health and care settings over the winter period. This is likely to be until at least March/April 2022.
  • Screening for early recognition of patients with COVID-19 should be undertaken wherever possible prior to attendance at the health or care facility.
  • Recommendation that physical distancing should be at least 1 metre, increasing whenever feasible to 2 metres across all health and care settings.
  • Triaging within all healthcare facilities must be undertaken to enable early recognition of patients with respiratory infections.

In light of the above there will be no immediate changes to procedures at DMP. We thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
