Our Practice Building

Accessibility

Our premises are based on two floors, there is a lift to the First Floor and there is excellent wheelchair access to all areas and toilet facilities on both floors. The toilets are located on the ground floor by the community waiting area (straight ahead from the main entrance and to your left) and on the first floor by the midwife/health visitor waiting area. Please refer to the Accessibility Page for more information.


Hearing Loop

A Hearing Loop has been fitted, for the hard of hearing, in the waiting room. A portable unit can be requested for use in individual rooms. Please ask at reception if you require this facility.



Digital Display Boards

There are several digital display boards in the waiting area; used for calling patients and for displaying news and information relating to the Surgery and other health information.


Surgery POD – Self Health Checks

There is a Health POD at the end of the waiting area that everyone is free to use to check their Blood Pressure, Weight, and record other basic health information directly into their medical records. No appointment necessary.

When attending the Medical Centre for an appointment with a GP or Practice Nurse please use the touch screen to book in for your appointment. It is located by the main entrance (on your left through the second set of sliding doors).

Please follow the instructions carefully when you are using this machine. If you are unsure how to use this facility, please ask for assistance at the Main Reception.


Reception Desks

There are two Reception Desks in the Practice, the first facing the Main Entrance is for Community Services, you should enquire here for these services e.g. District Nursing, Health Visitors, Audiology, Chiropody & Speech Therapy.

The Main GP Reception is located to your right through the Main Entrance, here our receptionists will be pleased to aid you in all your enquires; making appointments, collecting or handing in letters or collecting repeat prescriptions.

Please note the Dental Department has its own dedicated Reception and you should attend here (upstairs in the Dental Department, please follow the signs) for all Dental Appointments and enquiries.

If you are attending for a Physiotherapy appointment, please make your way upstairs to that department and wait to be called.


Notice Boards and Information Leaflets

Around the foyer, reception and waiting areas are various notice boards full of health information and other valuable materials that may be of interest to you, please take a moment to read them if you have time when attending the building.

Information leaflets on a wide variety of health and related topics are freely available from the practice. Please ask at reception if you can’t find what you are looking for.


Waiting Areas

There is seating all around the building for the various areas and clinics, please refer to the signs hanging from the ceiling to help you locate the correct waiting area for your visit.
