How Do I get To See A Physiotherapist?

Referrals are accepted from local GPs (Market Drayton and Hodnet) via the Shropdoc triage system.

Referrals are also received from consultants from the Princess Royal Telford, Royal Shrewsbury, Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Hospitals and North Staffordshire Royal Infirmary.

No self referrals are accepted.

What Conditions And Injuries Do They Treat?

A wide range of conditions are seen including musculo-skeletal problems such as arthritis, low back pain, whiplash, sprains, strains and tears of muscles and joints.

Many patients are referred following surgery which could range from shoulder and knee arthroscopies to joint replacements and amputations.

Neurological conditions such as stroke, Parkinson’s, multiple sclerosis and any spinal lesion are also seen and assessed in the department.

Chest complaints; COPD, Bronchiectasis, emphysema etc are seen in the department or can be referred to a “Pulmonary Rehab” which is run by an outside physiotherapist and for which one needs a referral.
